Skip to main contentWhat is a branch?
A branch is your personal workspace. You can make changes there without affecting anyone else until you decide to merge.
Start a workstream
- If Git is connected, create a new branch (name it after your task, like
welcome-banner).
- Make your changes in that branch.
- Check your spec or checklist and make sure everything is done.
Stay in sync
- Before you finish, pull the latest updates from the main branch so you don’t miss others’ changes.
- If there’s a conflict, read the prompts; choose the version that matches your plan or ask for help.
Merge safely
- Review your changes: do they match your spec’s success checks?
- Merge your branch into main when everything passes your checks.
- If you’re unsure, ask a teammate to review the summary of what changed.
